A vintage tie, people on the train, the smell of spring coming, the movement of water. What I see, feel, hear, smell, touch, live - it all finds it way through the creative process and into reality.
All that sensory information can instantly converge, crash, intersect, and finally meld into a single vision, a concept. Concepts can occur swiftly and with ease, sometimes before sentence completion. Often they need to evolve, be dissected, and refined. And sometimes, the best solution is to scrap it and start again.
I find the initial creative process to be very spontaneous, organic, and almost impossible to reproduce or duplicate. It is this process that excites me everyday and that brings my ideas to life. |
